The mangrove wilderness is a highly secretive natural spectacle. In "Mangroves: Trees in the Sea" Jerry Greenberg reveals magnificent diversity both above and below the water. Beauty in nature is not always obvious. Sometimes we need to take a closer look. Photos range from bottom dwellers to the majestic birds of the canopy. Incredible macro views into an other-worldly, previously overlooked ecosystem. Jerry, Idaz, and Michael Greenberg. 6" x 9", 64 pages. Color photos. ORDER NOW! |

the real "low-down" on the most dangerous denizens of the
deep. Sharks, eels, barracudas, and downright poisonous creatures...many
as beautiful as they are deadly. Shark attack and research, plus most of
the potentially hazardous sea life found in the waters of Florida, the
Bahamas & the Caribbean. |
|
A unique blend of artwork by Idaz Greenberg and
photographs by Jerry and Michael Greenberg portray the vivid splendor of
the reef. Scientifically accurate text makes this a must-have for divers
and marine naturalists. Covers the waters of Florida, the Bahamas, and the
Caribbean. Also, 9"x12", 16 page Special
Run available for $6, while they last! |
Many of Idaz Greenberg's drawings are rendered from underwater photographs taken by Jerry and Michael Greenberg. Fish, crabs, manatees, and more are combined with coral and fan scenes and a diver or two. Detail is at a minimum, so the coloring enhances rather than competes with the artwork. Common names of all species are given. Idaz Greenberg. 8-1/2" x 11", 32 pages. Line drawings throughout. SORRY: SOLD OUT |

Jerry Greenberg has been one of the foremost underwater photographers since the 1950s. Unable to find underwater camera housings back then, Jerry crafted his own. Famous for his "kiss of flash", his compositional skills, and his knack for being in the right place at the right time (never mind the hours it took for it to become the right time!), Jerry's skill and artistry has been featured in Skin Diver Magazine, Life, Argosy, National Geographic, Audubon Magazine, and many others. To date, his company Seahawk Press, has published over a dozen books, and innovated the waterproof fish identification guides seen on the Fishcards page of this site.
Jerry's wife, Idaz, uses her immense talent to illustrate the Fishcards and Guide books, and has proven to be a gifted researcher and writer. Together, Idaz and Jerry choose from among thousands of photographs, design the layouts of each page, polish the text, and are closely involved in all aspects of the printing process. Some of their books include underwater photographs taken by their son, Michael Greenberg. The Greenbergs have been married since 1955 and reside in South Miami, Florida. Because of their artistry and high standards, Seahawk Press books and waterproof cards are truly a finely crafted labor of love.
Fishcards.com wishes to congratulate the Greenbergs for their perseverance and sacrifice (under the worst circumstances) in protecting the rights of copyrights held by artists and creators. Greenberg vs. National Geographic Society is now case law. (If you click on the case name link, the 11th Circuit Court decision will come up in a new browser window.)
